Internet Access
The access to the world wide web

A huge number exist meanwhile on possibilities to combine with the Internet. We control them all! In the following an overview about the widespread technologies.

DSL
On DSL, households and enterprises are able to send and receive data with high transference rates (up to 210 MBit/s) via normal copper wire. This is an essential improvement compared with phone modem and ISDN connections. As a rule a broadband Internet access is made available by means of DSL. Nothing must be changed in the moved participant connecting pipe for DSL, because the DSL procedures used for the mass market use on the already moved copper-double wire of the telephone network a frequency band which lies above the frequency response used for analogous linguistic telephony / ISDN.

ISDN
With ISDN it likewise concerns a digital connection. Nevertheless, only transference rates from up to 64kBit / can be reached see (with canal grouping 128kBit / s). This connecting kind is edged out with the pure Internet access bit by bit of DSL. However, with remote servicing applications it still is often used ISDN.

Analog
Analog connections via modem are not contemporary with a transference rate of 56kBit any more.

UMTS
Universally mobile Telecommunications system, better known under the abbreviation UMTS, stands for the mobile radio standard of the third generation (3G) with which clearly higher data transfer rates than with the GSM standard are possible. The quick data transfer and the independence by mobility are the corner pillars of the third generation. The concrete advantages lie in the totally new application possibilities.

Dedicated line
Dedicated line is a permanent connection of two communication partners on a telecommunication network. In contrast to a switched line, the whole transference way is always available.
With the connection, data of every kind can be transferred, for example, analog (e.g., telephone call) or digital (e.g., data direct connection). The connection can be built up not by the participant about an electoral procedure, but must be produced by the net operator. Hence, dedicated lines on the telephone network have no phone number.
